he's real

I had my 30-week check up on Wednesday afternoon. Waited forever to get seen. This time, my appointment was with the dude-doctor who I am not always fond of. He went through my chart and said that everything is pretty much at superstar levels. Then he showed me how to feel Alvin's head and his little butt. He's head-down and ready to roll in a couple of months.

I asked, kind of pathetically, if they did any further routine ultrasounds. Dr. Awesome said they'd only order them for problems and followed with, "Why did you ask, you just want to see him?"

Yeah, I responded sheepishly. I just wanted to see him.

So Dr. Awesome sneaks me down the hall to the U/S tech who gives me a free 3/D ultrasound with a DVD.

Dude, I cried. Dr. Awesome is officially 100% off my shitlist.

And Alvin looks just like his big brother. And he sleeps the same way--with one hand over his forehead. (Currently, that hand is wacking my bladder whenever he moves.)

This whole pregnancy just narrowed into focus. I can't wait to hold you, little dude.

Ugh. I'm not happy for you. I'm jealous. Where are *MY* little dudes??? This is bullshit.

I think your husband meant to marry and impregnate THIS Maria. And mine you. :P

He's cute, and I'm not just saying that. I can see and tell from many hours of staring at and studying my own girls' 3D u/s pictures. :)

Love the pictures. I am totally getting a 3D one at 32 weeks. Sadly, tho, it won't be free.

Oh, he's awesome! I can't wait to meet you, but I REALLY can't wait to take a bite out of your baby...oh wait, I mean meet and coo at your baby.

Your little bebeh is so cute! You realize you're going to have a houseful of horny teenage girls lusting after your offspring, right?

oh. how. cool. I remember when we did that 3-D thing. It made me cry, too. I just couldn't believe it was real. It's a feeling that's simply indescribable, and I'm so glad you get to feel it.
